Just a short note to inform that the Car arrived safely in Guernsey last
week. The Sun even made a surprise appearance this weekend allowing me to
drive it at last - everything appears to be in ‘ship’ shape! When we first
spoke I joked that I was a little sceptical about all of the great
testimonials on your site but having flown over to meet you and seen the
car, I can state that my skepticism was totally unfounded and I find myself
joining the happy Group! Your descriptions on e mail and the telephone were
very accurate and you delivered on your undertaking to fix the small issues
identified in the engineer’s report which helped enormously. Thank you for
your assistance in securing my first classic car purchase which has brought
back many happy memories of way back when - I am looking forward to
experience them again. No doubt I will be faced with large bills also but
such is the price of pleasure! You never know, in time I might be back to
Spinning Wheel to dip again …..
Thank you once again and best regards |

To
be honest the couple of little things have given me a great excuse to
"tinker" and get my Haynes manual out!! My overall experience of buying the
car has been great, I found you open and honest about the car and very
straight forward to deal with. The car is exactly as described and in
amazing condition given it is over 40 years old. Delivery happened as you
said it would and the car arrived as planned. If I find myself in the
position of looking for another old car you would probably be my first port
of call. Regards, Ken |

I've owned my Alfetta GTV 2.0 about a year now and thought I'd give you a
quick update. It's still running great you'll be pleased to hear and I've
hardly had to do anything to it except for a few problems with the clutch
last summer (now sorted). I sold the old wheels quite easily, re-fitted the
original gearknob and bought a set of mats to protect the carpet but apart
from that it's pretty much how it was when I bought it from you. I still
love driving it and it generates quite a bit of interest from passers-by who
know what it is, used to own an Alfasud, tell me not to take it out in the
rain because it will rust away... ha ha etc etc. Anyway I'm still really
glad I bought it, definitely a dream come true! Done about 1,800 miles in
the last 12 months which isn't bad considering the awful weather last
summer, including a trip to Newby Hall near Ripon for the National Alfa Day
Anyway just thought I'd let you know how we're doing; hope this is of
interest to you. Best regards B V |
Dear Adrian,
Just a short note to thank you for the outstanding service that I have
received. My recent transactions both as a buyer and seller have been
absolutely faultless. Both vehicles that I have bought from you have been
exactly as described, in fact I would say under described in that they were
in better condition than the photographs showed. The whole process of the
sale was easy , pleasant and fun , communications superb and the delivery
service second to none. I would recommend you highly to anyone and will most
definitely come back to Spinning Wheel for my next vehicle change. You are
one of life’s true gentlemen. Thanks again . Roger N |

Hi Adrian, we got
the TR6 into Australia just before Christmas. All arrived safe and sound and
the car flew through its inspection and safety check. All we had to do was
have inertia reel seat belts fitted.

Dear Adrian,
I always wanted a nice Triumph Tiger Cub. When I saw the one on you web-site
just before Christmas I felt that it was time to go ahead. Few weeks later
that lovely little 1959 Tiger Cub arrived at my home in Hamburg. I was most
delighted to see that its condition is exactly as you described it to me.
Let me say that I am absolutely content with the purchase and your service.
Thank you and kind regards

Hi Adrian,
Despite picking the worst weather day possible to pick up the MZ, I’m happy
to say that it didn’t miss a beat on the way back to the ferry. I’m very
pleased with the bike and it certainly was ready to eat up the miles as your
ad said. Thanks also for showing me the rest of your treasures, they were
all superb. I’d like to have taken a few more bikes back, and some of those
beautiful firearms too.
All the best for now.

Hi Adrian, just a
quick note to say Robert arrived ok in his transporter with my Jaguar XJS on
the back, I did note some of my neighbors came out to take an envious look
at the shining green paint and bright chrome work, the car looks really
fantastic. And thank goodness my wife likes it.Thanks again Adrian for your
honest service I would not hesitate to tell my friends to purchase from you
as I am sure I will be doing so .

Hi Adrian,
just a quick thank you for all your help and honesty purchasing a Morris
pick up for my husband, as you I told you I know nothing about vans but with
your help I had the confidence to go ahead and buy it as a surprise he was
really pleased with the pickup and said he could not have done better. Once
again thank you very much. Lyn

Hi Adrian
Just wanted to say many thanks for the great service I received during the
purchase of my Alfa GTV.
The car looks fantastic on its new wheels and tyres that you fitted and the
new rear seatbelts mean that our nine year old can travel safely in the
back. In fact the whole car was beautifully presented, it's a good job it's
tucked away in its garage as I can't stop looking at it!
We got the car home safely and without a hitch on Saturday and then I
couldn't help but take it out on Sunday again to show it off, during which
time it ran faultlessly again. I am now looking forward to many more happy
miles spent behind the wheel and would not hesitate to deal with you again
or recommend you to others. It was great to deal with a genuine enthusiast
rather than a salesman and the extra little touches were really appreciated,
such as picking us up from the train station and your efforts to get the car
taxed on a Saturday afternoon. It is so rare to get that sort of good old
fashioned service these days which made it all the more welcome.

Thank you for the
excellent service I experienced when purchasing my MGB Roadster at the
Spinning Wheel recently.
I had been searching for some time for a suitable example at the right price
and had travelled considerable distances to see cars described as "rust free
and immaculate" that were anything but. Calling into your dealership on an
off chance, I was lucky enough to see two good examples of MGB and you spent
a good half morning showing me around them. It was this aspect of care and
attention to detail that really impressed. There was no hard sell. Your
obvious personal enthusiasm for cars (and a whole range of other items that
we chatted about) shone through. I was able to test drive unhurried and even
get the vehicle up on a ramp to thoroughly look it over.
Having decided to purchase, the after sales care continued to impress. The
car was delivered to my home in a covered trailer and when a minor fault was
discovered you dealt with it for me swiftly and professionally. The
difference between a family run business and a main dealership was plain to
see. The little personal touches making all the difference.
I'm sure that most people who buy cars from a dealer would agree, that the
most important things they look for are value for money and honesty and
integrity from the dealer. Not only did you display those in abundance but
your friendly, cheerful and patient character made the buying of my
beautiful car that much better an experience.
Many many thanks,
Michael G |
Hi Adrian. Just a quick note to say that
the Triumph TR6 arrived today safe and sound and looks superb. Every inch a
classic roadster that's been prepared and presented to your very high
standards. Fantastic. Margaret and I are looking forward to some sunny days
"hopefully" so we can enjoy this lovely car. Once again many thanks to you
and your team.

Adrian. Where do I
start?
This is the 4th car that I have purchased from you and I have never been
disappointed. My most resent purchase the 1973 3500s P6 is fantastic. It is
an absolute dream to drive, the condition of this 1973 P6 is brilliant and
is a further testiment to your total commitment to quality. If you read
this, then it is a honest statement to this fantastic company, Spinning
Wheel.
If its your first purchase, then do /not hesitate to spend your money with
Adrian's company. You will not regret it and more so you will really enjoy
the experience.

Hi Adrian. You will be pleased to know I made it home safely. Weather was
not too clever from Worcester onward but i managed to miss the worst of it.
Feel a bit battered today as the Laverda is certainly not a touring bike! I
had to pull in at Clay cross motorbikes as i could not get the filler cap
off. It had jammed on and the nice chaps found some large mole grips. The
same thing happened at every refill so eventually I ditched it for a petrol
station special. Apart from that hiccup, the journey was uneventful. Bike
rides well. Very stiff but planted. Rides like a 90's bike and engine needs
working like you said, but this makes the bike more engaging. Nothing
happening below 4 thousand and then it builds speed rather than takes off.
Feels a bit like an old 900ss without the low down torque and better
handling. You do have to use the gearbox, even on the motorway and top is
like an overdrive. Everything appears to work even after a good soaking.
Lucia (as she will be known) is truly beautiful in the flesh and we are
bonding well. Can't wait for a sunny spring day.
Thanks for selling her to me.
Best wishes.Paul Torquay

Hi Adrian, just to let you know how happy I am with this lovely car. I
can't understand how undervalued they are by the market. For God's sake,
it's 41 years old, and it still goes, stops, corners, and is as comfortable
as anything they churn out today, but with so much more charm, elegance and
presence; not to mention that wicked woofle from the exhaust. Or is that no
longer required or desired in an object which, on average, costs several
years savings? Anyhow, despite the best efforts of H.M. Government, long may
your
business continue. And please don't sell that Ascot Fawn Daimler Sovereign
without letting me know first.
Cheers. Mark

Hi Adrian.
Just a quick note to say how very pleased Sandie and I are with the Rover P4
we bought off you in the Summer. I remember when I first phoned you and,
almost in desperation, said I was fed up with going around looking at
rubbish and wanted to visit a dealer with a stock of good quality cars. I
wasn't to be disappointed. "Archie" as the P4 has been named is a delight to
own and drive. Yes, I've made one or two changes to the car but these were
of my own choice and were not necessary. I guess that's part of the pleasure
of owning an old car; being able to improve it to one's taste. If ever we
tire of Archie and decide to replace him or even decide to add to our stable
we'll certainly be making Spinning Wheel Classics our first port of call.
Kindest regards

Hello Adrian,
Started Georg after a bit of a struggle yesterday. Again today, this time
it was a bit easier and took him for a short (20miles) gentle canter, as
befits his (and mine) age.
Stopped the engine and re-started a few times for the practice. Moderate
improvement! Same with putting him on his centre stand. I'll get there
eventually.
He rides very nicely, almost like a new bike and is a real credit to George
and yourselves for looking after him so well. Following my experience and
listening to your description of the R 50, I would have no hesitation in
recommending Spinning Wheel to anyone looking for a classic bike or car and
further, would look to yourselves first, should I decide to buy another
classic vehicle.
Thanks for everything (just don't forget the keys!),

I just wanted to let you know that the split screen VW pick up I purchased

have not had so much driving fun for years.

Hello Adrian
We hope that we find you well and apologise for leaving it so long in
writing to thank you once again for the excellent service and for the time
and attention given to our latest purchase by both you and your father. The
XJS Convertible has been well received by not only myself but also Heather
who has driven it more than i have so far !!! and by Sam our nine year old
cocker spaniel who is happy to sit in the back with the top down with his
ears flapping in the wind as the V12 purrs its way effortlessly along. As
far as we can see this model is underrated model that lasted three decades
and not only great value but also a pleasure to drive. This is not the first
car purchased from yourself and we know that it will not be the last. The
kindness shown by your family only matches your enthusiasm to preserve the
heritage of great cars and motorbikes of the past.
I look forward to popping in soon to see you, that is when i am able to
get Heather to let me have the car for an hour ??? |

Hello Adrian,
Having bought blind from Spinning Wheel before, I was confident that my

Hi Adrian
Thought you might like this picture of Thomas on the TY125. He loves the
bike and I think you were absolutely right about a TY80 being to small for
him.
I have joined him in the Taverners section with me so hopefully he can take
part in the winter trials. I might even be back in the Autumn for something
bigger for myself! ( I do like that BSA ZB32 you have)
Many thanks once again for another pleasant transaction.

Dear Adrian
We have now had William for a week and we would like to let you know how
pleased we are with our new addition to the family. As you know, the drive
home went beautifully despite the only "sensible" option being the M1/M42 -
William performed faultlessly and cruised along at 60 - 70 mph without any
drama.
We would like to express our thanks for the fantastic service you gave us -
everything happened like you said it would and nothing was too much trouble.
You gave us a totally pain-free buying experience and we would heartily
recommend you to anyone wishing to buy a classic car or motorcycle (or fire
engine!). We hope that, at some point in the future, we get the opportunity
to do business with you again.
Many thanks and best wishes
Bill and Debbie
PS. If you ever trip over a Gordon Keeble in your travels, I've always
fancied one. Funnily enough, we got overtaken by one, on the M42, when we
were driving back from you which is the first time I have ever seen one
other than at a show.

Adrian - with the hope you remember
the name - Jon ******* - the 'globe man'.
I've been meaning to drop you a note for ages - the Dominion globe

help and patience - it really is a great globe, and I am attaching a picture
of it, in pride of place with a few of its friends.
Thanks again - best wishes - Jon

Dear Adrian,
Just a few words to say thank you for arranging such an easy transaction
with my recent purchase of the BMW Z3M.
Sandy and I just love this car and we do appreciate the extra care which you
took with the final preparation.
I guess that we must have been dealing with Spinning Wheel for about 8 years
now and I still find it a pleasure in this day and age to be able to
negotiate face to face and then secure a trustworthy deal by the shaking of
hands.
We look forward to a continuation of this for many years to come.
Best regards,

Hello Adrian
Sorry to be a bit late sending you a note, but just to let you know how
delighted we are with the MGB roadster. A big thank you for all your help
and sorting out any queries we have had. We have no hesitation in
recommending you to anyone who is planning to buy a classic vehicle. We are
fortunate to have a company like yourselves who are not too far away, and

Hello Adrian
The X1/9 arrived safe and sound late yesterday afternoon and looks very nice
as described. I've driven a short distance and everything seems to work OK
other than a loose connection somewhere in the radio/speakers. Also, I
haven't yet worked out what the added switch between the driver's seat and
the handbrake is for! Any ideas?
I hope the Peugeot is to your satisfaction. I showed Rob, the transporter,
the car with the hood up and down, so he will confirm that the mechanism all
works OK. I've been charging the battery recently and had to reset the clock
as a result, but I hope that being disconnected hasn't affected anything
else electrical.
Thanks again

Adrian,
Had the P6 for a couple of weeks now and covered around 500 miles. Have to
confess to a degree of trepidation on the way up to collect it, as I was
buying a 37 year old car that I had not driven. My fears proved groundless
the moment I drove away from your premises; the car does, as you said, drive
extremely well and I enjoyed every minute of the 240 mile drive home (except
the queue for the Dartford Tunnel). You may remember saying that you thought
the recorded mileage was genuine but couldn't say for sure. Quite frankly,
if it has been clocked it was wound the wrong way; it drives as I would
expect with half the mileage shown.
The fast idle speed turned out to be a broken return spring, and when I got
home there was petrol leaking from the pump where the diaphragm had
perished. Both minor problems which were easilly fixed. Neither dampened my
enthusiasm for the car, and I actually quite enjoy a bit of tinkering.
I am delighted with the car, and should I decide to add further to the
collection (sadly, not very likely) you will be my first port of call.
Kind regards
Andy C |
Hi Adrian
Just to let you know that the MGA is living up to our expectations. Looks
superb in my garage. And even better on the road. A real head turner! I'm
making minor adjustments to controls and tuning as I get used to it. Any
sign of the CD with all the pictures on it? And did you say you knew what
colour it is?
And William! You've done a splendid job of the pictures and write up - well
done! One thing that struck a chord with me was your mention of the brakes.
That was one of the first things that impressed me when I bought him, and
they are better now with Goodridge brake hoses. What a difference they make.
Best Regards

Dear Adrian
Once again, I'm delighted with a car I have bought from you. This time
it's the 1991 Mercedes-Benz 500 SEC delivered to me by Tim a few weeks ago,
and it's turned out to be even better than the W126 S-class I had from you a
couple of years back -- and I thought that one was good!
As ever, my latest Mercedes was just as you'd described it, only better. The
bodywork is truly excellent and fully blemish-free with a quality of finish
that would be the envy of anyone with a brand-new car. The chrome is all
first-rate, save for two or three minute spots on one corner of the front
bumper. The alloy wheels are unmarked and even the tyres are nearly new.
The interior is stunning and absolutely everything electrical works as it
did when it left the factory 20 years ago. The engine is superb, as is the
gearbox, and starting from cold or hot is instantaneous.
The W126 cars are said by enthusiasts to be the last of the "true" Mercedes,
built up to a specification and not down to a price. However, despite this
quality of engineering, many of my car's contemporaries have fallen by the
wayside... but the all-round excellence of this one demonstrates that a good
car will remain a good car if properly looked after.
The quality of your stock is well known by those who have bought cars and
bikes from you over the years, but I really must congratulate you on the
quality of this particular Mercedes, on your honesty in describing it and,
as ever, the pleasantness of dealing with you.
I wouldn't dream of buying a car, especially an older one, from anyone else
without first seeing it and checking it, but I have no hesitation at
all in doing so with you. I would fully recommend you to any potential
purchasers who have not dealt with you before. Like your dad, who I've known
since the 1960s, you're one in a million. Just like your vehicles!

Dear Adrian,
Just dropping you a line to say thanks for your excellent service, and how
pleased I am with the BMW. It is better than I could have hoped for and
although I had to ride home in the rain it was washed the same day.
Friday I spent cleaning and polishing and now it looks as good as ever. It
really is a credit to its last owners.
Just a quick question, what oil did you use for the change and did you use a
new filter? No problem if not as I will make sure I change it next time.
To be picked up from the station in a Triumph Stag was the icing on the
cake, and I would be happy for this letter to be added to your increasing
large list of testimonials.

Dear
Adrian,
just a note to say how pleased i am with my Ducati mk3 350.
After some initial niggling faults with the bike which you kindly dealt
with. It is now a joy to ride and puts a smile on my face every time and
gets many looks wherever i go!
Many thanks to you at Spinning Wheel who dealt with me in a professional
manner and were true to their word from the offset.

Spinning Wheel
did a fantastic job for us on our special day. Adrian and the team
were friendly and helpful in the run up to the day, and on the day our
driver was superb. He was well prepared (having driven the route the
day before), relaxed with Charlotte and her family and all in all a very
friendly yet professional. We'd recommend Spinning Wheel to anyone
wanting a top notch wedding day chauffeur service. |

Hello Adrian
Just a line to say once more how satisfied I am with the BSA deal. Brian
sorted the delivery & collection out and we had a bikers chat over coffee
putting the world to rights, good bloke.Much appreciated Adrian we'll keep in
touch. |
"It was a pleasure
dealing with Adrian from Spinning Wheel Cars. I felt that he priced and
described the car I bought accurately and the delivery service made the
entire process painless. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another car in the
future from this company."

Hi Adrian,
Many apologies for the delayed reply. Thank you very much for the photos,
and I'm pleased to say the car arrived safe and well with Brian on the
Friday. I'm delighted with the car.
Unfortunately, I've not been very lucky. I took it out for a run on the
Sunday after delivery and had a miserable time parking it up on arrival back
at my garage. Firstly it started running quite hot as I was manoeuvering it
into position, I panicked a bit and managed to scrape the wing on the garage
door frame as I reversed it in. As you can imagine I was quite upset - not
the start I would have wanted.
The overheating may be something or nothing, but I'm getting it looked at on
Monday anyway as it happens to be a personal paranoia of mine with any car.
They'll also have a look at the wing damage, which actually isn't as bad as
it sounded when it happened. Some scratches and the Saab badge ripped off is
all really. Hopefully straightforward to remedy.
In happier news, Mum & Dad came over last Sunday and we went out for a run
which was excellent. They both really love it, and it brought back loads of
good memories for them.
I am of course very pleased with the service you've provided - how could I
not be? You've been very straightforward, helpful and accommodating and I
wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone.
Having said that, I can't help have a couple of minor lingering
disappointments with the car. First is the colour matching of the new paint.
I didn't notice anything amiss when the car was delivered, but since seeing
photos (see attached) the difference in colour is pretty striking (albeit
quite light condition sensitive). Secondly, is that the reversing lights
still aren't working.
But like I say, these are minor issues compared to the excellent overall
condition of the car, and I'm looking forward to many years of happy classic
motoring with it.
Very best regards,
Phillip |

Good morning Adrian
Early RAC Badge arrived this morning in
good fettle. Ideal for the use I have for it. Many thanks. It clearly has a
tale to tell and has had the odd addition, repair and re-plate but frankly
it is a hundred years old and part of it's rich history.
Thanks again

Hi Adrian
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and the team for an
excellent job you did in delivering both bikes, considering I live in the

Many thanks for the excellent deal that you did for me. The 1970 Triumph
Herald is lovely, great to drive and it is a real head turner. The condition
is brilliant and totally original which a nice touch.I came back to you
after buying my first classic MG from you last year because of the quality
of your vehicles and your total commitment to service. I had not one worry
about purchasing the Herald from you even without seeing it. I know that
your cars are always well cared for and in great condition.
I went out on the day the car arrived and could not believe the attention
that the car received, amazing. The fact that you delivered and collected
from me in Scotland is part of the reason I will always come to you first
for any classic car purchase.

Hello Adrian,
After a trip of 750 miles I arrived here in South Germany on Saturday
evening, deaf but happy.I spent the night near Brussels and had no trouble
at all with the car. The TVR made his way like a clockwork. Now I have to
prepare it for the rigid german TUV (MOT). But I think there is not too much
to do... I'm very happy with the car

Hello Adrian,
Well, I have had the car for 3 weeks now and she is running well, I used the
car for my granddaughters wedding as you will see by the attached picture.
The car has been driving very well, I use it for my daily car, and it has
been to a couple of local shows. There is a small windscreen leak in heavy
rain but is not to bad at the moment. I am looking for a cap cover for the
winter as it lives outside to keep the weather from the windows. Thank you
for the help you gave me prior to purchase.

Hi Adrian,
Finally found the time to sit down and drop you a thank you line about the
Triumph Spitfire.
From the moment I first saw her on your web site, I thought “she” was the
car for me, however buying a car “unseen” has never
been my way.
Right from the start you were able to
provide me with the information I requested about the car and your “honesty”
was a refreshing change to normal car dealers! Never before either has a
dealer put me in contact with the previous owner to chat about the car etc.
However, having said all that, I still made the long journey from Scotland
down to your garage to “check her out”
Of course, now I can say “Why did I bother” because
your description, attention to detail and knowledge about the car, meant I
was looking at exactly what you had described and I was so proud when she
rolled off the low loader at my house the following week.
All the work I had requested (optional gauges) had been done, along with the
service, independent valuation and new MOT.
But once again, you went beyond the call of duty, by getting the small dent
removed from the passenger door (even though we had agreed I would do it
later) simply amazing!
Everywhere I drive in her, people ask “Where did you get that from?” and I
am confident to pass your web site details onto them, even comments from the
Triumph Sports Club have resulted in “What a Beauty, Best looking car I
have seen for ages”
I can’t thank you enough for making this purchase so easy and stress free
and I really am looking forward to doing business with you again soon,
although I won’t be coming in to see you next time, unless I am passing your
door.
Best Regard

We wanted a luxurious looking car for our new
business La Pause Parfaite, a chauffer driven short break experience in the
South Of France, in which we will be providing, picnics in the vines,
sailing in the Med and wines tastings and all things wonderful. We found the
answer with Adrian. He instantly knew what would suit both in budget and
style.- he even installed our champagne holder for the welcome pick up at
the airport, as an extra treat for forthcoming guests.
His advise was truthful and honest, and we flew into Luton, trained to
Chesterfield and then did the long drive down to the lovely Languedoc. The
Jag purred along beautifully, we travelled in extreme comfort with Air
conditioning and CD player, and arrived home with our new acquisition. If
you want to follow the meanderings of a beautiful Jag, care of Adrian, you

Dear Adrian
I live in south west France and work commitments here meant that I could not
get over to meet you or to see the BMW R100RS motorcycle that you were
selling on your website. I must confess to being a bit nervous when I,
initially, came to deal with you. One reads constantly of scams and dodgy
practices on the web and I was aiming to spend a fair amount of money. I
need not have worried - you answered all my queries promptly and kindly took
and sent me extra photos of the bike to confirm a few items. In addition
(and totally above and beyond the call of duty) you sorted out both the
paperwork and the delivery of the bike - after keeping it for me for several
months; as I had nowhere to do so - all without charge! I am a confirmed fan
and would not hesitate to (and will) recommend your services to all and
sundry; a gem of a discovery.
I look forward to our next trade!
Thank you so much.

Hi Adrian,
Thank you for the delivery of Henry now re-named Harriet, I am so glad you
like Milly she was special to us and I was sorry to see her go, however she
was very restricted in her use as her age would"nt let her go out in the wet
or dark. Henry on the other hand ( oops Harriet ) will be used much more.
Seriously though I am pleased with the Triumph, I have just ordered some
door edging from Rimmers and a new set of carpets from Coverdale. That
should see her to show condition. Thanks for your integrity I will look
forward to doing Business with you again. Regards John and alison |
Dear Adrian,

I must say I am very happy with the bikes that you've sold me.
Thank you very much.
You deserve trust.
Now I greet you cordially.

I am just back from a great 3 days away touring with the new love of my life
(don`t tell my wife) my 1973 MGB GT which I purchased from you very
recently.
In buying this classic from you I did something that after 57 years on this
earth I thought I would never do and that is buy a car without seeing it. To
say the car is everything you stated is an understatement as you did not
tell me that is drives brilliantly. Brian delivered the car and went though
everything on the car for me, well done Brian and thanks for patience. The
condition of the car is a you stated fabulous both outside and inside. I am
so glad that I chose your company to make my first classic car purchase and
I can see that it will not be the last purchase from you.I would and have
already recommended Spinning Wheels to many of my friends. Many thanks for a
fantastic service and the fact that you delivered the car all the way to
Edinburgh from Chesterfield is testament of your calibre of service.

Adrian,
Just a quick note to say that the 1962 Rover P4 purchased from you the other
week is a delight. I have now covered a few hundred miles and she drives
superbly. Buying a car I haven't seen from a man I don't know isn't the kind
of thing I do and in general advice is not to do it. However from the first
tentative email to you and from phone conversations I somehow felt that you
were a man I could trust and my instinct was correct. Having waited 40 years
to acquire a P4 I am delighted with the one I have. On arriving at your
premises to see her all polished up and under cover sent out the right
message. To find half a tank of petrol in her and a new car jack was the
topping, or at least I thought until, while the paperwork was being sorted
out you had the exhaust on my partners car welded up so we both had a good
journey home. I would not hesitate to purchase another car from you should
we require one in the future.
Many thanks

Hello Adrian, as you promised, the Porsche 944 Owners Manual and service
books duly arrived last week. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather, I
have only been out in the car once, however, I did a 50 miles round trip
just before Christmas and I have to say, not only does the Porsche look
superb, it drives just as well. Most people who see the car simply don’t
believe that it is original and not the subject of a multi thousand pounds
restoration. I now have a list of friends ( including several ladies I am
glad to say), waiting for a drive, roll on Spring!Needless to say, I am
delighted with my purchase, it is very refreshing in this day and age to
deal with someone who has, what are now considered old fashioned virtues
such as honesty and integrity, I would not hesitate to recommend you to
anyone wishing to purchase a Classic Car in total confidence, indeed, I will
be looking for a Convertible myself from you later this year.
Thanks’ once again and Kind regards,

I’m a fully qualified motor vehicle engineer (cars, bikes and trucks). This
is the second motorcycle I have purchased from Adrian at Spinning Wheel
Classics. I have been delighted with each deal and was impressed on both
occasions with the quality of the bikes, professionalism, knowledge and
friendliness of Adrian and his team.
If you are interested in Classic Cars or Motorcycles, then the Spinning
Wheel website should be on your 'favourites' list as Adrian’s
stock is always very interesting and changing on a regular basis (almost
daily).
Keep up the good work Adrian and thanks again for your help in purchasing
the two bikes. I look forward to doing some more business with you in the

Hi Adrian
Many thanks for the way you assisted me with the recent
purchase of the MGB. It is truly an excellent example of a classic car and
your professional manner made it easy to decide to go ahead with the sale
and know that I could trust you in the future to look after the car. I think
it is important that when you are buying a classic car you have all the fact
and you were clearly open and honest throughout. Your recommendations for
insurance proved to be very useful and got me a brilliant deal, and
arranging the delivery of the car to my home by a very nice man (Tim Hunt)
completed a very special experience.

Adrian,
This is just a quick note to say thank you very
much for all you assistance in the purchase of my Mini. The car drove like a dream all the way to the boat and home. It was
even better than I had anticipated it to be. If you ever get a MKI Mini Cooper or S give me a shout as I would have no
hesitation in doing business with you in the future.

Afternoon Adrian,
Just a quick note to say a big thank you for all the help and assistance
with my recent purchase it was a pleasure to deal with you and the team from
the first visits when I was like a child in a toy shop looking round all the
toys you and you team were always happy to chat a discuss my requirements
and advise accordingly. My boys and Father were thrilled when you
quite happily dedicated all Saturday morning to letting us test drive the MG
with you. It didn’t stop there your after sales service was just as
good as the pre sales service which is like a breath of fresh air in this
country which is sadly lacking in customer service at times. I run my
own business we drive our success through offering great service and value
and its good to see we aren’t on our own.
Thanks again.

Afternoon Adrian,
Just to let you know that I have just received the V5C and MOT for the MGV8
as you promised. I would like to thank you for your exceptionally good
service from the start to the finish of this transaction. It is not without
some trepidation that I embarked on spending quite a sum of money on a car
that I had never seen, from a man that I had never met, 300 miles away.
After years of buying smart German cars from smart suited salesmen who never
quite measure up to the promise, it has been a pleasure to deal with a
business that delivered just what it promised. The vehicle was delivered at
the time you said, it was in the condition you said, the history file was as
complete as you said, and at a fair price, I don’t think anyone can ask much
more! I would not hesitate in recommending you to anyone who feels a little
nervous about buying “unseen” In fact I already have, so please let me know
if you obtain an MGB GT V8 I have a likely purchaser.
Best Regards

Thank you for
finding my dream car. The "new" one is not only my ideal colour and trim
combination, but it's as near perfection as you're realistically likely to
get this side of a concours example, which would cost considerably more. So,
similar engine, more responsive gearbox, silent suspension, positive,
play-free steering; it all adds up to driving with a smile. I've been in
some newer Jags, and they can't quite match this sublime combination of
whisper-quiet performance, comfort, roadholding and handling, and other
marques are still nowhere near, nearl thirty years on. Why Jaguar have spent
all that development money over the past years, when all they had to do was
equip the engine with a 4-valve head (Walkinshaw did one), a modern ECU and
injection system, give it a modern gearbox and pay more attention to
corrosion resistance, is quite beyond me. So it's off back to Friuli with a
smile on my face, and I'll start looking for a nice Fiat 500 for you, and
some Prosecco.
Cheers. Mark. |

Dear Adrian,
Many thanks for the delivery of the 1936 Standard Light 10. It was good to

Hello Adrian,
Since picking up my MGB from you last week, it has lived up to all your
promises and assurances about the car. I am delighted with the whole
experience and so pleased to at last be driving an MGB.
As you know being my first classic car I had my concerns about making sure I
got things right and did not want to buy something unsuitable for my needs.
Your help in guiding me towards the right motor was very appreciated and
for that I extremely greatful. In this day and age it is rare to find a
business with such a high level of integrity and honesty, especially in the
motor trade. You are what all businesses should be targeting to achieve,
customer and dealer satisfaction so that both sides enjoy the experience and
benefit. I will have no hesitation in recommending you to other potential
new comers to classic cars.
Thank you again Adrian, I will certainly be back, but it will have to be MGB
again!
Best regards

A quick email to let you know that the Rover 3500S performed impeccably all
the way to Edinburgh. I wish the same could be said for my Vectra which
broke down on the A1 south of Wetherby and went home on the back of a
breakdown truck! Modern cars......
I picked up the usual little foibles that classic cars suffer from but
nothing I wasn’t expecting and certainly nothing that will cause my any
great concern. Things like a flickering ‘Brake’ light which is common and
probably a result of the car having the longest run it’s had for a while.
The most bizarre being the front foglight which comes on when you press the
brake pedal. I suspect the other would come on too but the bulb has blown.
The fog-light wiring will be a job for me one weekend soon as when you select
foglights on the switch, all the lights go out and the foglights don’t come
on.
Anyway, like I said apart from that it was impeccable. It was a pleasure
doing business with you.

Adrian,
Thank you for everything on Friday. The MGA lives up fully to my
expectations (and more) and I have had a grin on my face when travelling the
road to Hull and then criss-crossing the Netherlands at the week-end. I have
completed 600 miles in her since Friday and she has not missed a beat. Her
water temperature and oil pressure are constant. She is full of character.
She built up quite a fan club on the car deck of the ferry and seems to
raise a smile most places she goes. I am submitting a testimonial on your
website which I hope you will find useful for publication on the site.
With thanks and kind regards,

Hi Adrian
A faultless
drive back to Newthorpe where she is now safely garaged. Very impressed with
the overdrive for such an "old lady", very smooth indeed. No problem now
with the gear changing but had to remind myself to push the brakes harder
due to years of power assisted driving.
I now have the classic I've been searching for over the last 2 yrs and was
very pleased to be able to draw on your experience. I feel I've been dealt
with honestly and would recommend you to anyone. Above all I feel I can
discuss any future maintenance issues with you where my own knowledge is
lacking.
I hope you wont mind me dropping by from time to time just to see what you
have in stock and a chat, if you have the time. You look good on the video

Hi Adrian
Just a note to say how happy I am with the BSA A65 Lightning Clubmans, it
really is a stunning looking bike, its just a pity I didn’t have it earlier
to enjoy the fantastic summer we had up here this year. It’s very much the
case if the rest of the UK has a poor summer we have a good one!!! The bike
itself after a number of runs and a few adjustments, which my brother in law
has done (he is a keen biker and runs his own garage), is really starting to
run well, with hardly a crack or bang at all now after you start her from
cold. I thought I should to say you were a pleasure to deal with, with a
very relaxed and friendly style and if my wife allows it, you will
definitely be one off the first classic dealer’s that I look up for any
future purchases.

Hi Adrian,
Just a brief note to stay in touch and mark
the occasion that it is actually a year ago today (can you believe it?) that
I travelled up to "Spinning Wheel" to meet you and view the Zephyr and, of
course, agree its purchase. The car has given me immense pleasure of
ownership and it is still exiting just to turn the key and start the engine
- quite apart from the fun of driving it. Many thanks for your help in
curing the problem I encountered in the first few weeks. It has covered over
1200 miles this year and been to three shows - picking up a trophy for "best
convertible" on its first outing (which was Ford Mk2 owners club).I
still regularly visit your web-site to see and read with great interest
about the different models you have available. Please remember me to Brian,
Best wishes,

Hi
Adrian.......just to let you know after the minor breakdown , which was soon
rectified, the Dommie performed superbly all the way home. I was impressed
with its ride and performance...cruising happily between 50 and 70....oil
tight too.. after the 220 mile run...on £20 worth of fuel... The engine has
lots of torque and i suspect a SS cam maybe inside due to the lively mid to
top end performance. I got plenty of looks from passing modern bikers and
car drivers alike. I hope you are happy with the Datsun...and the " sidearm
"......!! Look forward to collecting the Ducati in due course.....Best
wishes John |

Hello Adrian,
Just a note to
say thanks for your help purchasing the mini clubman. I got her home ok
Saturday night and is now safely garaged. She is totally as described and i
am very happy with her. As discussed on Saturday over the phone, you might
keep a look out for a 2000 mini cooper or 2001 mini cooper 500 with very
small miles on it, preferably green or blue, i would be interested in
purchasing. You might let me know if you do.
Thanks
again, Kind Regards,
Darran

Dear Adrian,
Just a
brief note to say that
the Hillman is performing
brilliantly. Once again you have supplied a car that is just what was
described
– a
lovely, lovely motor
car.
It has solved the problem I
was having with my arthritic knee, I took it on a couple of runs last week
– about 30 miles the
first time and around 60 the second
– to
visit an old friend
with a real passion in cars. He was most impressed, he drove it briefly and
now he wants one as well
– well actually he wants a
Hillman
convertible
(he has seen the Marks
& Spencers advert on TV and wants one for the summer).
The car drove really well
on a combination of dual carriageway, main road and country lanes and
so far I am enjoying
it.
I will take it to see my
cousin in a week or so, she ran Minx’s for years and will, I am sure, be
delighted to see one in such lovely order.
Best wishes.

Hi Adrian
Having enjoyed a good relationship with you
since the early 90s, initially when I wrote about some of your fine cars
from time to time in classic car magazines, I am now writing to you as a
very satisfied customer. I have now bought two cars from you "over the
phone", the latest one being my fabulous Mercedes-Benz 420SE, and I would
cheerfully commend you to anyone, like myself, who lives a very long
distance from you and therefore cannot easily inspect a proposed purchase.
The Mercedes is precisely as described by
you, both on your website and in telephone conversations. In 50 years of
buying cars I have only ever encountered one other specialist dealer in whom
I could place such trust. This was especially significant with the 420SE
because it was a model I knew very little about, and one of the most
sophisticated and complifcated cars of its period, meaning that it was a car
requiring particular caution when purchasing.
It is now three weeks since I drove it home
to Scotland, leaving Chesterfield just an hour after seeing it for the first
time, and it is everything I had hoped it would be. One or two fellow
enthusiasts have commented that I must be barking mad to have committed to
buying such a car without seeing it, yet I can honestly say I did so without
any qualms, and would recommend the same course of action to others in the
same position.
The only problem has been the non-operational
air conditioning, which you know about, and which I'm sure will be rectified
by having it re-gassed. I will keep you informed in this respect.
Once again, thank you for the outstanding
quality of your motor cars, your total honesty, your plain-speaking (well
you are a native of Derbyshire!) and your friendliness. Spinning Wheel
really is a business to be proud of.
Best wishes, Martin |
Hello Adrian,
Sorry to have taken longer to
contact you than I intended, am spending every spare minute looking for
excuses to go out in ' matilda'! I have to say the whole experience of
buying a classic car from you was simplicity itself - despite not being able
to see her being up here in Edinburgh. Having never done anything like that
before I was quite nervous making the initial contact. After speaking to
you for only a few minutes it was clear that everything about the way you
conduct your business was completely transparent and extremely
professional. I instantly felt at ease and trusted you. Nothing was too
much trouble, from sending numerous photos from all angles, detailed history
that showed complete knowledge of previous owners, not to mention your
passion for the car being infectious! On top of all of that you and Brian
organised the delivery of 'matilda' all the way to Scotland in the most
horrendous weather. You stated that if she was not as described you
would take her back as I hadnt seen her prior to delivery. True to form
Brian did not leave until he was sure we were completely happy with every
aspect of the car. Suffice to say she was even more beautiful than
described - everyone should have one and I couldnt recommend you highly
enough to everyone who has admired her. Thank you for making a dream come
true!
Kindest regards,
laurie |

Adrian/Roy,
Good to see you on
Saturday and to be relieved of the readies for the Mini. It's an absolute
dream to drive.
Sallyann had a grin all over her face on the way home. I still recognised
her though, I've seen her grin once before....Thanks again,Spen. |
Hi Adrian - just a quick email to thank you for the excellent and
friendly service (as usual) and car! I am really pleased. As promised I
enclose a couple of pics taken at the wedding fayre this weekend - where she
certainly created a stir and got some bookings....
All the best for now... Geoff

Hi Adrian,
Just to let you
know that I have collected the Scitsu/Triumph from Calgary, Alberta
yesterday. Minus 44 an snowstorms on 4 hour drive back home! No problems
with Customs or Paperwork...well done.Adrian. I would like to give you my
grateful thanks, the Scitsu is exactly as per our conversation and your
website. It is very re-assuring to find a straightforward, honest
transaction nowadays, particularly when you are dealing with somebody the
other side of the World. It can be a little worrying! If you wish to use
this E.mail as a testimonial or put any potential customer in touch with me,
please do so. It was, and I am sure will remain so, a pleasure to do
business with you. The bike is beautiful, can hardly wait for Spring!
Kind

Dear Adrian,
Just to let you know the XR3i is still going strong (see photo taken at
Notts classic show 7th may). We have enjoyed runs to shows and classic
racing including Cadwell, this a quick fun car on twisty B roads!. Although
one of your cheaper classics you presented the car in immaculate order, you
offer a friendly, down to earth honest service, after 11 months we have had
no faults or problems with the escort. We would certainly buy from you
again.
Thanks C and M.

As you will know we have purchased 3 cars from you over the past
5 years, one classic, one near classic and one modern day
vehicle.
We travel from the Lancashire / Merseyside area to deal with you
because we know that we will get the best all round honest deal
for all types of vehicles. Your service from arriving at your
Chesterfield site is second to none and
your honesty, understanding and
help make us feel we are dealing with a personal friend not a
Motor Dealer. We will of course always recommend “Spinning
Wheel” to all our classic car contacts which as you know are
many, especially as we organise the annual Coast to Coast
Classic Car Run and I (Ronn) am a registered Clerk of the Course
for the MSA (Motor Sports Association)
Thanks

Hi Adrian,
Just to let you know we have arrived back in Ireland safe and sound.
Thanks for everything I am really enjoying the car.
I may even be back to you within the year for another (I'm rapidly
getting hooked on the idea of an '80's SL) !
It was a wonderfully smooth transaction thanks to your refreshingly
detailed and honest description of the car.
I can honesty say that I would highly recommend you to buyers from
Ireland. With the early morning flight and afternoon sailing from
Holyhead we were back in Ireland for 6pm on the same day, having had
the benefit of a nice cruise across north Wales to familiarise
ourselves with the car.
Thanks again

Dear Adrian
I would just like to say what a pleasure it has been to do business with
you again in the last couple of days. Over the last 15 years or so
I have been backwards and forwards to Spinning Wheel and sampled a
large range of your stock. In every case the car has been as
described and has not disappointed, and if there have been any small
issues you have always explained them in advance of the sale. I
feel lucky to have found such a genuinely nice family business, who
are interested in their customers and their families. Our recent
transaction regarding the Morris Minor Convertible took place over
the phone and we agreed a deal based on your description. The car
duly arrived, on time, on Monday evening and I took the opportunity
to get the hood down and try it as soon as possible. Once again the
car has been as described – a lovely little car. I will enjoy
driving it – and when the time comes to change again you know I will
be back at the door.
Best wishes, Alistair” |

Dear Adrian
Further to our telephone conversation, we must record our
delight and pleasure with regard to the Mini Traveller. Firstly,
your delivery driver, Brian, was most charming and helpful and a great
ambassador for you and your company and explained in great detail all
the things and replacement parts that were done to the car. The
car itself, which we haven't yet driven but have no reason to believe
that it will not be to our expectations, is delightful and everything
that you said it was - the condition report, the paintwork, the
interior, the brightwork, the upholstery and general fabric of the car,
not to mention the video, can only be described as first class. We
feel the Mini we received is just as excellent as the Mini we parted
with and, considering they are some 30 years apart in age, this says a
lot for the way you described the Traveller. We are both delighted
and looking forward to taking it to Poole Quay Mini Night next Friday
and a Classic Car Show the same weekend. Should you have any
doubting Thomases buying a car on the same basis as ourselves then show
them this e-mail to put their minds at rest.
From two very satisfied customers
Kindest Regards

HI
ADRIAN,
I want to say thanks
to you for all your honesty, kindness, help and friendship when we were
dealing with you for our two cars the Austin 1300 GT and the Riley 1.5,
which we are now enjoying very much. Your standard of business is very high
and it is always service with a smile, which is very encouraging to your
customers. As we are now good friends, I would certainly have no hesitation
in dealing with you again, and I look forward to doing so again in the
future, and I will recommend you to all my colleagues in the old vehicle
movement in Northern Ireland, and try to get you more customers and
sales. Thanks again for all your assistance which was much appreciated by us
both.
Best Wishes and
Regards and every success to you and your business in the future.

Hello Adrian,
Just a few lines to say thanks for yet another spot-on car. It arrived, as
promised, delivered by Brian and after giving it a good "going over" I have
to say I am, once again, delighted. How nice in this day of shifty "Arthur
Daley" merchants to find and be able to deal with a no flim-flam, no frills
and sharp suits, just honest above-board straight people like you and your
company. As Brian said on his departure, you'll probably see us again in
another 18 months to do another deal, but we'll pop in to say "hello" when
we're in the area and I'll have no hesitation in passing on my
recommendations. Please give my regards to your Mum, Dad, Brian and the rest
of the crew.
Take care and keep well, Gerald and Judith.

Hi Adrian,
Just to let you know that we are really
happy with the Spitfire. It's exactly as you said it would be and we're trying to get it out between
the showers as the weather has been terrible but we have managed to put up a
few miles on it and are delighted with it.
Thanks again, Dave Byrnes
