2008 AC Cobra Replica - AK Sportscars is based in Peterborough in the UK specializing in the design and manufacture of one of the finest cobra kit replicas in the country – the AK 427.
This example was ordered in 2008 and factory built to order. It has covered just 2,200 miles and it is presented in outstanding condition. Finished in Graphite silver with bright silver stripes and trimmed in contrasting beige hide with grey piping and carpeting. Very well specified.
The motor is the 5.7 Litre small block Chevrolet V8 driving through a 5 speed Tremec gear box. The chassis is of multi-tube extensively braced with a triangulated backbone section. Fully independent suspension with aid from some Jaguar components. The AC benefits from power assisted steering which is excellent in use. Stopped by servo assisted dual-circuit 4 wheel disc brakes, large vented discs with the calipers to the front being 4 pot type. Standing on beautiful Halibrand style 17" alloy wheels. Ally header tank, electric cooling fan and silicone race hoses keeps power plant nice and cool. The beautiful exhaust note is from a four into one high performance side mounted exhaust system with heat shields in stainless steel. All in all an outstanding sports car beautifully finished.
